Stephen graduated from New England Conservatory of Music in Boston with a Bachelor's degree in Piano, Performance. In 1982, he shifted his focus and received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Environmental Design from Parsons School of Design in Paris. After graduation, Stephen remained in Paris for a few years working as an intern before returning to NYC.
Once back in NYC, Stephen opened a store on the lower east side and began rehabbing small spaces for budget minded locals. During this time he was hired by Gensler & Associates, Architects, in NYC as a project designer. Better suited for a more relaxed environment, he opened Stephen Clark Design Group (SCDG) in 1989. In the late 1990's, Stephen was invited by Parsons School of Design in NYC to teach a course in Interior Design.
After 30 years in NYC, Stephen relocated both home and office to Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Stephen's project locations include: Paris, NYC & surrounding suburbs, The Hamptons, Fire Island, The Berkshires, Philadelphia and surrounding suburbs, North Carolina, Savannah, New Orleans and Florida.
